Most convenient way to get to Samui would be to get a direct flight from Bangkok by BKK airlines. The flight is only 1 hour long. If you want to save a bit of money than another alternative would be flying toΒ  Surrathani and getting the ferry to Samui. The ferry is only 200thb but adds another 3 hours to your travel time. Lastly if you are backpacking you can get a bus from BKK to Surat and than take the ferry, the bus method is the cheapest but takes around 10 – 11 hours.
